Our laboratory at Leamington Spa is especially equipped for testing Rubbers, Plastics and Friction Materials as well as Sealants and selected Brake Fluids. In addition to the inspection of such materials, the facility has the capability and equipment to carry out Corrosion Testing (including neutral salt spray to either ASTM B117 or BS ISO 9227) and Cyclic Corrosion Testing.
A complete range of physical testing of elastomeric compounds is also available which includes Tensile Strength, Tear Strength (Crescent, Angle and Trouser types), Tension Set, Compression Set, Hardness (IRHD and Shore A), Cold Test (Gehman testing) and Density and Volume change in various media from Oils to Brake Fluids.
Polymer analysis and thermal analysis of rubber compounds to identify the constituent parts of that rubber (such as the process oil, polymer and carbon black used during manufacturing) can be determined using our specialist analytical equipment.
A comprehensive and extensive scope of physical testing of plastic compounds and friction materials which encompasses such tests as Tensile strength, Flexural strength, Shear, Impact (Charpy and Izod), Hardness, Density and Volume change as appropriate to the substance under inspection can also be undertaken by our highly skilled and experienced team. The full range of tests we can provide can be found by clicking on the adjacent links.
