Our company provides a full and comprehensive range of weld testing and welding inspection services from our regional laboratories and test houses. In conjunction with our Lloyds Register Approval we can undertake Weld Procedure Approval and Welder Qualifications as required under the CE Marking Regulations that were introduced in 2014.
We can also provide ‘on-site’ testing of welds using conventional inspection methods such as Visual, Magnetic Particle and/or Penetrant Inspection by which we can identify surface breaking faults. In addition we can carry out Ultrasonic Testing and Radiography Inspection (both X/Ray and Gamma), which are primarily used for detecting the presence of sub-surface (volumetric) type faults and which are typically sought in Butt weld configurations.
Our welding inspection service includes Positive Material Identification (PMI) using Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) and/or XRF technology by highly experienced and skilled technicians. Both methods can be performed safely on-site and each provides rapid results in determining the chemical composition of the welding consumables used as well as the parent metal material. This is particularly useful when Certificate of Conformance (C of C) compliance is required post welding.
