Caparo Testing Technologies was established in 2006 and was formed from a number of existing companies.
Two laboratories already existed within Caparo and in mid 2006 Material Measurements Ltd (MML) was added by acquisition. MML was a long established company involved heavily in non destructive testing (NDT) and operating in a range of industrial sectors, notably aviation, rail and power generation. MML itself incorporated another company of long standing, Trutest, and subsequently acquired NDIS, Quest and RABCO before itself being acquired by Caparo.
- 1960: MML was formed to carry out ultrasonic thickness surveys / corrosion control monitoring for ship / marine applications.
- 1960-1982: Other Non Destructive Testing techniques were introduced for on-site marine / industrial inspections.
- 1982-1985: MML moved to Reigate and established a complete Test House facility with all primes / accreditations approvals.
- 1985: MML was purchased by management buyout.
- 1988: MML acquired Trutest an on site aircraft NDT inspection company.
- 1999-2001: MML became more involved in the Rail Industry and "Rail Group standard GN/RT-2005 was gained.
- 2000: MML established a facility in Ireland
- 2002: MML acquired Non Destructive Testing Services Ltd (NDIS) and Quest Inspection Ltd.
- 2002: MML established a facility in Belgium.
- 2003: MML established a new mechanical testing laboratory in Witney.
- 2004: MML acquired Rabco Industrial Inspection from Bodycote Materials Testing.
- 2006: Caparo Engineering Ltd acquired MML.
- 2008: The whole MML group was re branded "Caparo Testing Technologies".
