Caparo Testing Technologies provides non-destructive testing services for many applications, some of which can be very unusual. This was particularly highlighted during the CBBC Blue Peter programme broadcast on 30th October 2014 which featured Caparo’s radiography capabilities.
A section of the programme was focused on the work carried out by one of Caparo Testing Technologies’ clients, Hugh Turvey. Hugh specialises in ‘Radiographic Art’, which involves X Raying everyday objects using conventional X/Ray Film and then applying colours and processes to it to create unusual but highly detailed images for display.
Caparo Testing Technologies provided the radiographic facility and the technical assistance which enabled the items selected by the Blue Peter audience - an MP3 player and a pair of headphones - to be radiographed. Hugh’s unique vision and artwork processes were then applied to the film resulting in the creation of a unique piece of art.
Paul Howarth, Sales and Marketing Manager at Caparo Testing Technologies commented: “We were very pleased to assist Hugh in this unusual way of using X/Rays in order to provide informative and interesting content to the young viewers of Blue Peter.”
