Caparo Testing Technologies recognises its duty to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other relevant legislation as appropriate.
Arrangements and responsibilities for Health and Safety are detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
It is our policy:
- To exceed the minimum requirements of the legislation;
- To provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities
- To consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety;
- To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment;
- To ensure safe handling and use of substances;
- To provide information, training, instruction and supervision for all employees
- To prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health to employees and others
- To ensure the safety of contractors, visitors, the public, and those especially at risk
- To maintain safe and healthy working conditions;
- To promote and maintain a good Health and Safety culture;
- To ensure employee involvement, participation and consultation to gain commitment to this policy and its implementation;
- To develop the Health and Safety system through continuous improvement.
All employees of Caparo Testing Technologies have duties to:
- Co-operate with the company on health and safety matters;
- Not interfere with anything provided to safeguard their health and safety;
- Use equipment and chemicals in accordance with training and instructions;
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others;
- Report any work situation which might present serious and imminent danger;
- Report any shortcomings in the Health and Safety arrangements.
To ensure that this policy is effective, we will:
- Review it annually, or when there are significant changes to our business;
- Make any such changes known to employees;
- Maintain procedures for communication and consultation between all levels of staff on matters of health, safety and welfare.
In order to implement this policy we will provide sufficient resources to meet these commitments.
